Coleman Visiting Professorship Established(2)

December 17, 2009

A new Visiting Professorship has been established by the family of James J. Coleman, Sr. in his memory.  The James J. Coleman, Sr. Visiting Professorship in Law will enable Tulane Law School to invite a distinguished international legal scholar each year to teach a four-to-six-week long course in an advanced international area.  The visiting scholars will be known as Coleman Visiting Professors.

The late Mr. Coleman was a proud member of the storied Law Class of 1937, whose members included many prominent legal, government, and business leaders.  Mr. Coleman practiced law for 40 years, while leading several successful local and international business interests.  His global perspective will be honored by the international relaionships fostered through hosting Coleman Visiting Professors at the Law School.

Tulane Law School is grateful to the Coleman family, especially Mrs. Dorothy Jurisich Coleman (N '41) and Mr. James Coleman, Jr. (L '68) for the establishment of the Coleman Visiting Professorship.
