November 01, 2006

Tulane University Law School, the Associated European Energy Consultants (AEEC) and the Lawfort Energy Team have organized a conference in Brussels to discuss the importance of the reorganization of the power generation in Europe.  The event will take place Tuesday, December 12, 2006, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm at the Lawfort offices.

“Tulane Law School is pleased and honored to be a co-sponsor of this important Conference and is deeply grateful for the support it will provide to us in our successful efforts to not only recover from Hurricane Katrina, but emerge as a stronger and healthier institution for having endured this tragedy,” said Dean Lawrence Ponoroff, Tulane University Law School.

Topics to be addressed include “Generation Licenses” and “Grid Connection” in Europe, “The Gas supplier’s point of view”, “Security of Supply” and “Impacts of environmental constraints on power generation”.  Speakers include Mrs. Evelyn Huytebroeck, Brussels Minister of Environment, Energy & Water, Mr. Guy Block and Mr. David Haverbeke, Members of the Brussels Bar, Mr. Christian Held, Chairman of AEEC, and Professor Lloyd Bonfield of Tulane Law School.

Questions about the Conference should be directed to Lloyd Bonfield, Associate Dean International Graduate Studies and International External Relations.  He can be reached at 504.865.5850 or via email: lbonfield@tulane.edu
