CLI 2012

Nearly 400 of the country’s top corporate lawyers, dealmakers, scholars, and media analysts convened in downtown New Orleans last spring for the twenty-third annual Tulane Corporate Law Institute (CLI). This year’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) conference, which focuses on relevant topics and updates to corporate and securities law, will seek to break last year’s attendance record when it kicks off March 8, 2012, again at the Roosevelt Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

Since its inception in 1988, the conference remains the most important gathering of its kind. Referred to in the past as an “Oscars for lawyers” and a “who’s who of the mergers and acquisitions world,” past attendees have included Securities and Exchange Commissioner Troy Paredes; the global head of investment banking at Lazard, Antonio Weiss; CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” anchor, David Faber; and head M&A reporters Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times and Dennis Berman of The Wall Street Journal.

Whether the conference comes amidst turmoil on Wall Street or a surging market in a mending economy, the agenda is always active and the conversations are as candid and uncensored as they are strategic. Stay tuned.
