Professor Palmer lecturing in Asia

May 22, 2012



Professor Vernon Palmer, Thomas Pickles Professor of Law, Co-Director of the Eason Weinmann Center for International and Comparative Law, and Director of the European Legal Studies Program, will address the meeting of the International Academy of Comparative Law in Taipei, Taiwan on May 25, 2012.  He will speak on “The Role of the Judge in Codified Systems.”  Professor Palmer will then travel to Japan to address the Japanese Society of Comparative Law at its annual meeting at Kyoto University on June 2nd.  His topic there is “Mixed Legal Systems and Japanese Law.”  Professor Palmer’s three-week research visit is sponsored by The Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science and will also include public lectures at Niigata University, Kyushi University, and the University of Tokyo.
