Amy Mead, a 1996 Tulane Law School graduate, started work July 1 as city attorney for Juneau, Alaska.
Mead had been an assistant city attorney in Juneau and was selected for the top job from a field of eight applicants, the Juneau Empire reported.
Mayor Merrill Sanford was quoted as saying that “the Assembly determined that Ms. Mead’s background and legal expertise was what the Assembly as a whole was looking for in the new city attorney.”
Mead joined the city’s legal department in 2010 and previously had worked with private law firms and for the state of Alaska.
