Gambit’s 2013 “40 under 40” feature, which highlights young New Orleanians making their city better, recognizes the work of a Tulane Law School graduate and an adjunct professor at the Law School’s Payson Center for International Development.
Jacqueline M. Brettner (L ’06), an attorney with Carver, Darden, Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux, is cited for starting a child day care center, Greenhouse NOLA. Brettner’s also a Big Easy Rollergirl, skating as Persephone Danger, Gambit says.
Adjunct Assistant Professor Anna Monhartova, who teaches at the Payson Center, was lauded for her work with A’s & Aces, a nonprofit group she co-founded with David Schumacher, who was her tennis coach at Tulane. Through A’s & Aces, students at six schools in the New Orleans area receive summer instruction in tennis, academics and life skills.
