President Obama nominates Walt Green (L ’93) as U.S. Attorney

President Barack Obama has nominated Walt Green (L ’93) as U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana.

Green has been Acting U.S. Attorney in Baton Rouge since July 2013 and started as a federal prosecutor in Nevada in 1998.

Louisiana’s Middle District is based in the state capital and covers nine parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Point Coupee, St. Helena, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.

Green was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Nevada in 1998-2000 and was Deputy Criminal Chief in the Middle District of Louisiana in 2002-2010. He is a colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and is  Officer-in-Charge of the Environmental Services Division and has served as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate since 1994.
