New Orleans CityBusiness Women of the Year honorees Judy Barrasso (L '81) and Judge Sarah Vance (L '78) join Tulane Law Dean David Meyer at the Nov. 14 luncheon recognizing the winners.
New Orleans CityBusiness recognized Tulane Law Professors Katherine Mattes and Stacy Seicshnaydre (L '92), plus seven other law school alumnae, as Women of the Year honorees for 2014.
The award, now in its 16th year, highlights the professional and community achievements of 50 women in the New Orleans area. The winners were honored at a Nov. 14 luncheon.
The Tulane Law School honorees are:
Katherine Mattes, director of Tulane’s Criminal Litigation Clinic.
Stacy Seicshnaydre (L ’92), director of the Tulane Civil Litigation Clinic and an authority on fair-housing law.
Judy Barrasso (L ’81), a founding member of Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver and board chair of the Downtown Development District.
Kathlyn Perez Bethune (L '06), an associate at Baker Donelson focusing on employment law.
Mindy Brickman (L ’95), a partner at Christovich & Kearney focusing on products liability.
Julie Livaudais George (L ’82), a partner at Chaffe McCall focusing on employment law.
Melissa Gibbs (L ’95), director of Business Development/Small Subcontractor Outreach for Gibbs Construction.
Lynn Luker (L ’81, LLM ’85, LLM ’92), owner of Lynn Luker & Associates, Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge pro tempore and director of Tulane’s Trial Advocacy Program.
Sarah Vance (L ’78), chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and a member of the Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation.
