Tulahe Law School is located in uptown New Orleans, in the center of the Tulane University campus.  Its student body comes from throughout the United States and abroad, as does its faculty.  Tulane offers a JD program, as well as five different LLM programs and an SJD program.

JD Program

Size of JD Student Body:  750

The JD program requires completion of 88 credit hours over three years (six semesters), plus 30 hours of pro bono service and completion of the upper-level writing requirement and the skills requirement.  All first -year courses are required.  Thereafter, the only required course is the 3-credit Legal Profession course.

The JD program is offered only on a full-time basis.

LLM/SJD Program

Size of LLM/SJD Student Body:  approximately 40

Degrees offered: 

The fullt-time LLM Program requires completion of 24 credit hours over one year (two semesters).   Attorneys practicing full time in the New Orleans area may pursue the LLM in Admiralty on a part-time basis, over four semesters.  The other LLM programs may also be pursued on a part-time basis, over four semesters.

The SJD program requires completion of 12 hours of coursework and a dissertation.
