Martinet Society Honors Tulane Law Alums, Student

The Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society and the New Orleans Martinet Legal Foundation will honor two Tulane Law School alumni and a third-year law student for their contributions to the organization’s mission at their annual Scholarship Gala and Jazz Brunch Sept. 29. Receiving the Ernest N. Morial Award is Chief Magistrate Judge Karen Wells Roby (L’87) of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The award is given to a “Judicial Pacesetter In Recognition of Contributions to the Bench and Bar,“ according to the organization. As a Tulane Law adjunct faculty member, Roby teaches a course on E-Discovery and Digital Evidence. Sheis also an Associate Professor in theTrial Advocacy program, a semester-long series of simulations in trial skills, and coaches the Black Law Students-Frederick Douglass Moot Court team. Alumnus Micah Zeno (L'16) will receive the AP Tureaud Award, given to a member Who has been active in the local bar associations and /or state bar association. He is an attorney for at Gordon Arata, Montgomery, Barnett, McCollam, Duplantis & Eagan, LLC. Natalie Paul (L’19) will receive the President’s Award, given to members for their dedication, service, time ad commitment to the Martinet mission. The Martinet Society was established to encourage interchange of ideas, promote legal scholarship, advance the science of jurisprudence, promote the administration of justice, uphold the order and ethics of the courts and the profession of law and promote the welfare of the legal profession in Louisiana in keeping with the vision of its founders.
