Consumer Financial Services Law

This course examines the federal and state laws and regulations governing consumer financial services and the entities offering those financial products.  The course will cover common law approaches to consumer financial protection but will focus heavily on federal and state consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Dodd-Frank Consumer Protection Act. The course will be taught by Gabriel Crowson, a member in the New Orleans office of McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC.
