Before coming to Tulane, George Strickler taught law at the University of Mississippi and practiced law in New Orleans, particularly in the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights. He is co-author with Professor Joel Friedman of a casebook on employment discrimination. Strickler has taught employment discrimination, civil procedure, remedies, evidence, and professional responsibility. He has appeared as an advocate in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. He was named a professor emeritus in 2016.
