On to The Hague: Tulane Law qualifies for ICC world round

A Tulane University Law School team has qualified for the second straight year to compete at The Hague in the International Criminal Court Moot Competition.

Sophia Radolinski, Jay Jensen (both L ’18) and Catherine Nunez (L ’19) were coached by Hilarie Wiley (L ’17), a member of Tulane Law’s 2016 team that finished fifth in the world at the International Criminal Court Moot Competition.

During the regional round March 17-19, Tulane’s Jay Jensen, Sophia Radolinski (both L ’18) and Catherine Nunez (L ’19) finished as the top North American team. Overall, they took second behind a South American team that won the competition. Tulane advances to the world competition May 14-19 at the International Criminal Court.

Hilarie Wiley (L ’17), who is coaching the team, was part of a Tulane trio that competed at The Hague in 2016 and placed fifth among 60 teams from 47 nations.

During this year’s regional, which was hosted by Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law in White Plains, New York, Jensen was named best oralist for the final round of competition, and his brief was named best for victims counsel.
