Biography

Ault Hootsell is a partner with the Phelps Dunbar firm and practices in the area of commercial litigation.  For more than 26 years, he has counseled corporate and individual clients on a full range of disputes. Mr. Hootsell is also Board Certified at both the national and state level in the area of business bankruptcy.

Mr. Hootsell's multi-state practice includes the handling of complex commercial and tort litigation matters. He handles disputes in both federal and state court, including  contract and lease disputes, property disputes, construction disputes, supplier disputes, products liability disputes, surety matters, intellectual property disputes, insurance regulatory matters, franchisor/franchisee disputes, and the protection and enforcement of debtor’s and creditors’ rights generally in the non-bankruptcy context.

Mr. Hootsell is among a select group of lawyers recognized in the category of Bankruptcy/Restructuring, listed in a nationwide client survey published in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
