Ajey Chandra is a Senior Advisor focussed upon Natural Gas Midstream at the Tulane Energy Law & Policy Center and serves on the Center’s Global Research Council and Advisory Board.  He is Chief Executive Officer of Baker & O’Brien, Inc., bringing four decades of expertise in market analysis, strategic planning, and operations management across the oil and gas industry.  He specializes in commercial analysis, project development, and asset valuations.  Ajey is a recognized expert in energy market dynamics and operations, and a sought-after advisor for clients in the valuation and acquisition of assets, while also being a pre-eminent expert witness in complex energy disputes.

Trained as a chemical engineer, Ajey began his career at Amoco Production Company, where he provided technical support for gas plant projects and operations.  He has held leadership roles at Amoco, Hess and NextEra Energy Resources, managing gas plant and pipeline operations in North America, Europe, and Asia.  Throughout his career, Ajey has been instrumental in key acquisitions and the development and execution of growth strategies, demonstrating his combination of technical and commercial acumen.

At Baker & O’Brien, Ajey provides strategic and due diligence advisory services to clients worldwide, as well as expert testimony in dispute resolution matters related to the midstream, LNG, and LPG sectors.  He assists clients in areas that include project feasibility and development, strategic market positioning, asset valuations, business interruption, commercial contracts, royalty valuation, and due diligence assessments.  A professional engineer licensed in Texas, Ajey has extensive testifying experience before private and international tribunals, federal and state courts, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Railroad Commission of Texas.
