Chris Bakewell is a Senior Advisor focussed upon Emerging Technologies at the Tulane Energy Law & Policy Center and serves on the Center’s Global Research Council. Mr. Bakewell specializes in the valuation and licensing of technology rights.

In addition to his role at Tulane, Chris is a Vice President in Charles River Associates’ Intellectual Property Practice, where he provides client service and holds firm leadership responsibilities. Mr. Bakewell assists companies in developing competitive advantages through leveraging technology rights. Mr. Bakewell serves as an expert witness regarding damages, licensing, and economic issues and has testified in various forums worldwide.

Mr. Bakewell’s career has involved management consulting and senior roles in corporate finance, business development and asset management in the power generation and development fields. Mr. Bakewell also founded and led a leading intellectual property advisory practice.

Mr. Bakewell’s client advisory assignments have involved a range of industries and technologies; in the energy space this includes various means of alternative and traditional power generation, power storage and batteries, alternative fuels and fuel cells, as well as upstream exploration and production.

Mr. Bakewell has also testified as a damages and economic expert in forums around the world. He has developed complex damages models and performed statistical and other data analyses.

Mr. Bakewell holds an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he was a Graduate Fellow and interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Bakewell also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University.
