Business Literacy Intersession

The Business Literacy Intersession will be co-taught by professors from the Law School and the A.B. Freeman School of Business and will be designed to cover a range of basic concepts in an engaging and interactive format. We hope that this track will appeal to students interested in careers in commercial or transactional practice (particularly, in anticipation of the summer interview season), as well as students who might be interested in pursuing a joint degree (JD/MBA) or who would like a leg up before taking upper-level business, tax or commercial law courses.

The Business Literacy boot camp will meet each day during the week of January 7-11, 2019. Some important facts follow:

Credit.  Each Intersession track will be worth one (1) credit (the credit will appear on the transcript for the Spring 2019 semester).

Attendance and Grades. The course will be graded Pass/C/Fail; a grade of “Pass” will not affect your 1L GPA. Expect to spend most of the five days in class or preparing exercises. Attendance and preparation will be mandatory.

Not a Skills Course. The course will not count toward the Experiential Learning Requirement, but will otherwise count as a classroom course.

Cost.  Although there is no additional tuition for the Intersession, each student will be assessed a program fee of $250.  This fee will cover the cost of materials, lunches throughout the week, and other programmatic costs.

Eligibility Students with a degree in business, accounting or finance are not eligible to take this course.
