Ian Barras

Ian Barras is a Registered Patent Attorney with the law firm Intellectual Property Consulting, LLC in New Orleans, where his practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property protection, including obtaining, licensing, and enforcing all manner of intellectual property rights, including matters involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks/unfair competition, and copyrights. Mr. Barras is a past-chair of the Intellectual Property section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Mr. Barras earned his J.D. summa cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans in 2006. He also holds an M.S. and a B.S. magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from Tulane University. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Barras worked for Entergy Corp. for over 7 years as a distribution planning engineer and as a research and development project manager.
