Biography
A founding partner of Flanagan Partners, LLC, Thomas Flanagan concentrates his practice in complex business litigation and civil appeals in the state and federal courts of Louisiana. Mr. Flanagan has substantial experience in all aspects of business litigation, including contract claims, corporate and shareholder disputes, antitrust suits, securities and banking cases, and intellectual-property disputes. His appellate practice includes these and several other areas, as dictated by the needs of his clients and referring counsel.
Mr. Flanagan graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 1986. He earned his law degree summa cum laude at Tulane Law School, where he was awarded the Faculty Medal for the highest cumulative average in his 1989 graduating class. At Tulane, Mr. Flanagan served on the Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. After law school, he clerked for the late John Minor Wisdom on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Flanagan, a member of the ALI, is an adjunct assistant professor at Tulane Law School, where he teaches Civil Law Torts. He is also an assistant bar examiner in the areas of business entities and negotiable instruments. He served as the President of the Federal Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter in 2004-05, and was as an elected member of the House of Delegates of the Louisiana State Bar Association (2001-07).
