Biography
Felice Batlan is a professor at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and Director of the Institute for Compliance in Financial Markets. She joins Tulane Law in the Fall of 2025 as a Visiting Professor, teaching Contracts I and Business Enterprises. She previously was a member of the Tulane Law faculty in 2004-2006, teaching courses in corporate law, legal history, and women and the law. Batlan earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and subsequently clerked for Constance Baker Motley on the Southern District of New York. She earned a Ph.D. in History, with Honors, from NYU and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Smith College. She has published extensively on the topics of legal history, women in the legal profession, and feminist legal theory, notably Women and Justice for the Poor: A History of Legal Aid, 1863-1945 (Cambridge 2015).
