Biography
Professor Alag joins Tulane Law School as a Forrester Fellow. She is completing a D.Phil in Law at the University of Oxford. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she earned an LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
Her research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of feminist legal theory, criminal law, legal history, and international law. Her scholarship has focused on sexual violence laws, with particular attention to feminist responses to gender neutrality in rape laws.
In addition to her academic work, Professor Alag has served as a legal advisor to the Global Justice Center, an international feminist human rights organization based in New York, where she worked on issues relating to gender-based violence under international law.
She received her first law degree in India. Following graduation, she served for two years as a Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of India, where she worked on a wide range of constitutional and public law matters.
