Dear Students,

I hope this finds you all well and ready to finish our transition week to remote teaching.

I know you are all understandably anxious to have a resolution of the Law School’s grading policy for this semester.  I had hoped to be able to make an announcement today about our plans, but that will now have to wait until the beginning of next week (hopefully Monday morning).

I want to thank you again for sharing your perspectives about the best way forward under the trying circumstances in which we all find ourselves.  Your comments have been uniformly thoughtful and fair-minded, and they’ve been genuinely helpful to us as we’ve sought to balance the many legitimate, even compelling interests.  We know, in particular, that there are heightened concerns for students worried about scholarship eligibility, and we have been mindful of these concerns in our deliberations.

We are continuing to work through details and coordinating with the University so that we will be in a position to finalize and announce our plans with the resumption of classes next week.

Thanks for your input – and your patience.  We know this is important to you.

Be well and I hope you can find some relaxation and recovery this weekend after a challenging and stressful week.

David D. Meyer
