Originally from Liverpool and an adopted son of the U.S., Bennett and co-host Michael Davies launched the "Men in Blazers” podcast in 2011 which quickly gained a dedicated following for its insightful and humorous coverage of soccer. The show's success led to a television debut on NBCSN in 2014, where it continues to cover the English Premier League and other soccer events.
Beyond "Men in Blazers," Bennett has produced several notable projects. In 2018, he created "American Fiasco," a 10-part podcast series examining the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team's disappointing 1998 World Cup campaign. He has also authored books, including the memoir "(Re)born in the USA," which debuted at No. 1 on The New York Times Best Seller List in June 2021.
Bennett's passion for soccer and dedication to promoting the sport in the United States have solidified his status as a key figure in American soccer media. His unique perspective, blending British roots with American enthusiasm, continues to resonate with fans nationwide.
Tulane’s Entertainment and Sports Law Conference annually offers insights into the evolving landscape of entertainment and sports law. In previous years, the conference hosted notable speakers such as actor Jonathan Banks, known for his role in "Breaking Bad," and political strategist James Carville.
Presented jointly by Tulane Law School and the Tulane Center for Sport, the conference has become a significant event for professionals and students alike. Past conferences have featured discussions on topics such as NIL issues in the sports industry, the impact of streaming on entertainment, and diversity in these fields. The event underscores Tulane University's commitment to fostering dialogue on critical issues shaping these industries.
