Tulane Law to Host Panel for Constitution Day

On September 17, 1787, the United States Constitution was signed by 39 delegates. Each year, Tulane Law presents a lecture in honor of its formation and signing. 

This Constitution Day, Professor Evelyn Atkinson will lead a lively discussion with Tulane Law faculty on the leading constitutional questions central to their scholarship and advocacy. Professor Atkinson will be joined by Carla Laroche, Stacy Seicshnaydre, Carlotta Lepingwell, Devin Lowell, Clara Potter and Mary Yanik. 

“Constitution Day: The Constitution in Thought and Practice” will take place on September 17th from 4-5 PM in Room 357 at John Giffen Weinmann Hall. The event is open to the public. 

Evelyn Atkinson is the Charles E. Lugenbuhl Associate Professor of Law at Tulane Law School and the Murphy Institute. Her scholarship focuses on the intersections of law, history, race and capitalism and has appeared in leading legal and historical journals. She holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
