Tulane Law Sets Historic Record During Give Green 2026

Give Green returned for its ninth year this April, and the Tulane Law community made it one for the history books.

Over the course of two days, a record 645 donors contributed $313,470, the highest ever raised for the school during Give Green. In addition, Tulane Law earned second place in the Big Green Grand Prize competition for having the second-highest number of total donors, unlocking additional funds.

The University’s annual day of giving is a time for students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends come together to support priorities across Tulane. At Tulane Law, donors contributed to the Tulane Law Fund, the Scholarship Fund and the Students Skills Training Fund, providing the school with resources need to support its most impactful programs.

“We are deeply grateful to our donors for making this our most successful Give Green ever,” said law Dean Marcilynn Burke. “Your generosity fuels our students’ futures and the continued excellence of our school.”

Alumni and supporters helped build momentum throughout the day, with a series of challenge gifts.

Dan Kusnetz (A&S ’80, L ’82) gave $10,000 to reward faculty and staff participation, while Richard B. Crowell (L ’65) donated $10,000 in honor of student participation. Bob Hinckley (L ’76) chose to challenge his fellow 50th reunion participants with a $10,000 gift, and Jimmy (L ’67) and Mercy (NC ’66) Nieset helped maintain momentum with a $1,967 gift during the afternoon Power Hour. As founder of the transactional track of the intersession bootcamp, Professor Michelle Duncan Bergman (L ’94, B ’94) challenged donors to support the Student Skills Training Fund with a $20,000 donation.

Perhaps one of the most exciting challenges was in honor of Professor Catherine Hancock’s 50-year tenure at Tulane Law: Dean Marcilynn Burke, Ron Book (L ’78), Kevin Boyle (L ’94), Meredith Hathorn (L ’83), Tom Lane (L ’91), Chris Ralston (L ’99) and Michael Rubenstein (L ’93) came together to donate $50,000 when the 600 donor milestone was reached.

The success of Give Green is a reflection of the engagement and generosity of the Tulane Law community. Each individual gift will help strengthen the Tulane Law experience, ensuring a quality education for the next generation of lawyers.
