Biography

Mr. Cozad received his BA from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1972 and both his JD (1976) and LLM (1997, Energy and Environmental Law) from Tulane University Law School. After receiving his JD, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nauman S. Scott, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. From 1978 to the present, he has been with the McAlpine firm in New Orleans, now McAlpine & Cozad.

Mr. Cozad also completed the Master of Laws program at Tulane Law School, obtaining a degree in Energy and Environmental Law. Mr. Cozad has received special training in Pollution Control Law, Energy Law, Hazardous Waste Law, Marine Pollution, Louisiana Environmental Law, Regulation of Toxic Substances, Toxic Tort Litigation and Marine Insurance. In addition to memberships in the Louisiana State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Maritime Law Association, Mr. Cozad is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Mariner’s Club.
