The Tulane Chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) articulates and promotes the needs and goals of BLSA members and works to effect positive change in the legal community. BLSA provides programs, activities, and leadership opportunities for its members, collaborates with other student groups, and sponsors educational and community engagement initiatives for the broader Tulane Law and Greater New Orleans communities.
Among BLSA’s notable activities, members compete annually in National BLSA competitions, including the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition and the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition, both of which enable participants to further hone their legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, while building relationships with other BLSA members and legal professionals across the country.
Membership in BLSA is open to all Tulane Law students.
