Our Mission

Dedicated to preserving and advancing the civilian tradition and to strengthening Louisiana’s links with Europe, the peer-reviewed Tulane European and Civil Law Forum publishes articles of the highest quality and significance. Among American journals, it is #1 in rankings of “most-cited” journals on European law. In worldwide rankings, it is the #3 “most-cited” journal on European law.

Submissions

Author Guidelines

The Tulane European & Civil Law Forum invites the submission of unsolicited articles, essays, and book reviews. Files should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. In most cases, the Journal follows the Bluebook for citations. Manuscripts may be submitted electronically to Editor-in-Chief Vernon Palmer at HERE.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • All submissions must meet the following requirements:
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The submission must be categorized as an Original Research Article, Brief Report, or Field Action Report as per the Section Policies.
  • You grant to the Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund (Tulane) the right of first publication of this submission and, if the submission is selected for publication by the Journal, you agree to acknowledge its initial publication in the Journal.
