Walker Kahn

Walker Nelson Kahn is an Assistant Professor of Law at Tulane Law School and The Murphy Institute, where he teaches bankruptcy, secured transactions, property, and law and political economy. Professor Kahn uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to examine how civil courts adjudicate consumer debt collection. His research focuses on procedural due process and access to justice in bankruptcy and mortgage foreclosure litigation. His work has been supported by a National Science Foundation Law and Science Dissertation Grant and has received the Ronald Burt Student Paper Award from the Economic Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association.

Professor Kahn earned his J.D. and his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before joining Tulane, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy at University at Buffalo School of Law.
