Professor Scalise named associate editor of ACTEC Law Journal
Tulane Law School Professor Ronald J. Scalise Jr. has been appointed as the associate editor of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) Law Journal, a leading publication in trusts and estates law.
Scalise, the John Minor Wisdom Professor of Civil Law, is a nationally recognized scholar whose work focuses on successions, trusts and estates, and comparative law. His scholarship has been widely cited and has contributed to law reform efforts in Louisiana and nationwide.
The ACTEC Law Journal is a prominent forum for legal scholarship in estate planning and fiduciary law, published by the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a national organization of leading lawyers and academics in the field. Scalise’s appointment as associate editor reflects his standing as a leading voice in trusts and estates law across the nation.
At Tulane, Scalise teaches courses in civil law property, obligations, successions, and trusts and estates, and is recognized for his rigorous teaching and commitment to mentoring students.
Scalise has received a number of recent honors recognizing both his scholarship and public service. In 2025, he was awarded the Louisiana Appleseed Good Apple Award for Pro Bono Service, which recognizes attorneys whose work expands access to justice and advances law reform. He also was elected to the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and has received multiple teaching and scholarship honors, including Tulane’s Felix Frankfurter Award for excellence in teaching.
