Ian J. Murray

Ian J. Murray’s research interests include transnational regulatory networks, corporate accountability, sports law, and law and capitalism. His doctoral dissertation deals with regulatory arbitrage, which it recasts as a distinctly contemporary approach to compliance, characteristic of an increasingly calculating legal culture. Other ongoing projects relate to the regulation of doping in global sports, the role of law in commodification processes, and the relationship between economic development rhetoric and the offshore economy. 

Prior to pursuing an academic career, he practiced law as a Corporate Associate in the New York office of Covington & Burling, LLP, where he focused on private equity transactions.
