Tulane Law School's Dreyfous Lecture on Civil Liberties and Human Rights will feature Professor Darren Hutchinson, a renowned civil rights scholar and social justice advocate, and the John Lewis Chair for Civil Rights and Social Justice at Emory University. 

The George Abel and Mathilde Schwab Dreyfous Lecture is dedicated to the study of civil liberties and human rights and will take place Feb. 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in conjunction with the Tulane Black Law Alumni Reunion which is scheduled Feb. 3-5, 2023. 

Join Tulane Law School Friday Sept. 16 at noon in room 110 for the annual celebration of Constitution Day, which this year will feature a lecture and discussion by Ellie Schilling (L'03) on "How We Got to Dobbs: A Constitutional History of Abortion Rights". Schilling is a 2003 law graduate who has has litigated (and is currently litigating) a number of cases on reproductive rights. Schilling also teaches a class for Newcomb-Tulane College on Reproductive Rights Law. 

The Institute on Water Resources Law & Policy would like to invite you to join us in a discussion about the Public Trust Doctrine in Louisiana. Panelists Judge James L. Dennis, Tulane Law Professor Emeritus Oliver Houck, and Tulane Law Professor and Director of the Environmental Law Clinic Lisa Jordan will talk about their experiences with the seminal public trust doctrine case, Save Ourselves v. Louisiana Environmental Enforcement Commission. The public trust doctrine requires that the government protect and conserve certain lands held in trust for use by the public.

The Tulane Law Diversity Initiatives Office and Immigrant Rights Clinic will host a virtual discussion on Anti-Blackness in America’s Immigration System on Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tulane Law’s annual recognition of Constitution Day takes place Friday, Sept. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. in a virtual format.

First year law students should come learn about Tulane’s Student Bar Association and the various positions available.

Attendance is mandatory if you wish to run for an SBA position.  

The Tulane University Legal Assistance Program is hosting its 1L information session. This is a great opportunity to ask about TULAP, the application process, and learn more about the clerk position that is available to 1L’s. The meeting will be brief. Snacks will be provided.

If you are responsible for planning events for a law student organization, you must attend this training on the event planning process. 

Information on public interest internships and the Equal Justice Works Career Fair  will be discussed at this program.  Info on the law school's Sept. 11 public interest & pro bono career fair will also be provided. Lunch will be served.
