On 27 July 2025, US President, Donald J. Trump, and EU Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the agreement of the US – EU Framework Agreement on Reciprocal, Fair and Balanced Trade (“US-EU Framework Agreement”).  Article 5 of the US-EU Framework Agreement commits the EU to procure US oil, LNG and nuclear energy products worth $750 billion through 2028.
