About The Center
Who We Are
The Tulane Energy Law & Policy Center is an energy law and policy research program and energy policy evaluation platform based within Tulane Law School. The Center applies an interdisciplinary analytical process to the evaluation of contemporary technical, commercial, market, regulatory and legal issues faced by the U.S. and global energy sectors, engaging legal, economic, policy, and technical experts.
Mission Statement
At the Center, we recognize that today’s energy and climate challenges demand more than siloed thinking—they require integrated, data-driven, and actionable insights. We bring together deep expertise in technology, economics, law, regulation, and policy to deliver rigorous, multidisciplinary analyses of the most pressing issues and challenges shaping U.S. and global energy markets. Our mission is to support informed decision-making by evaluating energy and climate strategies that balance three critical imperatives:
1. Reliable and secure energy supply
2. Affordable and equitable access to energy
3. Environmental and climate sustainability
We approach these challenges with objectivity—free from bias toward specific energy sources, technologies, or policy preferences.
Guided by our Global Research Council and powered by a team of seasoned experts and analysts, we provide strategic insights to policymakers, energy companies, investors, sovereign wealth funds, and financial institutions. Through research publications, high-impact events, and accessible digital content, we foster dialogue and drive solutions across the energy value chain.
We are also investing in the next generation of energy leaders. Through our program at Tulane University and partner institutions, we train future professionals in energy law, strategic mining, and environmental policy, equipping them to become future leaders in the energy business, finance, new energy market development, government service and beyond.
