This course will examine the basic antitrust statutes, Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act, Sections 3 and 7 of the Clayton Act, Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, and the Robinson Patman Act. The course will focus on the objectives of antitrust law, the concepts of market power and market definition, monopolization, horizontal and vertical restraints, mergers, the use of the per se rule and the rule of reason, price discrimination, and commercial bribery. Professor Feldman plans to invoke a rule penalizing students for lack of preparation and/or excessive absenteeism.(3 Credtis)
