Patent Prosecution

This course concentrates on U.S. patent laws, U.S. patent regulations, and procedures involved in obtaining patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Students will learn how to write patent claims, patent applications, and responses to office actions from the USPTO.  Some aspects of foreign and international law will be discussed.  The grade will be based on several written assignments and a final exam. The course will be taught by Brett North, an attorney with Roy Kiesel Ford Doody & Thurmon, APLC and Seth Nehrbass, an attorneys with Garvey, Smith & Nehrbass, L.L.C. (3 Credits)
