Biography
The Hon. Scott Crichton serves as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Louisiana. Prior to his election to the Supreme Court, he served 24 years as a judge with the First Judicial District Court (Shreveport/Caddo Parish) and one cycle as a judge pro tempore for the First Circuit Court of Appeal. He has also served as an assistant district attorney for Caddo Parish, maintained a civil practice, and served as an adjunct instructor of Business Law at LSU-Shreveport.
Justice Crichton received his J.D. in 1980 from the LSU Law Center and a B.S. from LSU-Baton Rouge in 1976. He is co-chair of the Louisiana Judicial College, serves on the Supreme Court Committee on Judicial Ethics and is a frequent lecturer throughout the state on Ethics.
