Herbert Larson

Herb Larson is an experienced defense attorney with particular expertise in federal criminal law, federal criminal appeals and international law.

Since 2007, he has overseen Tulane Law School’s graduate and international legal programs, including summer abroad and international exchange programs. He also directs the criminal pretrial practice track if the Intersession “boot camp.” He has taught courses in federal criminal law and international criminal law, as well as in international economic and banking crimes, war crimes, terrorism and trafficking in stolen and looted antiquities.

Larson has worked as an assistant federal public defender in New Orleans and maintains a private practice. He has handled numerous cases in federal and state courts and has represented clients at all levels of the federal system, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He also has been a Fulbright Fellow (Poland) and has taught at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He is Tulane Law School’s representative on the Louisiana State Indigent Defender Board.
