Linda Jellum is a Visiting Professor of Law at Tulane University. She joined the University of Idaho College of Law in 2022. Prior to that, she was on the faculty at Mercer University School of Law, where she held the Ellison C. Palmer Sr. Endowed Chair in Tax Law. Jellum is a prolific scholar. She has also authored numerous books and book chapters on statutory interpretation and administrative law. She has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court, including by the late Justice Antonin Scalia and current Justice Neil Gorsuch.
Before entering academia, Jellum worked for the Washington State Attorney General’s office. While there, she served as lead attorney for the Department of Social and Health Services. Prior to working as an assistant attorney general, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul Yesawich.
Jellum received her J.D. and undergraduate degrees from Cornell. She has the unique honor of having sat for and passed five states’ bar exams. She is excited to visit with Tulane Law School for a second time (the first was in 2016) and is even happier that her husband, Lee, has joined her. Finally, she looks forward to working with the Tulane Law Review students on her latest article: Chevron: The Doctrine that Must Not Be Named and Cannot Be Overruled.
