Eason-Weinmann Lecture features French law and culture scholar

The annual Eason Weinmann Lecture on International and Comparative Law will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Tulane Law School featuring the distinguished French comparatist Dr. Antoine Garapon. 

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the John Giffen Weinmann Hall, 6329 Freret Street, in Room 110, the Wendell H. Gauthier Appellate Moot Court Room. A reception will follow.

The event is open to the public.

Garapon is the Secretary-General of the Institut des Hautes Etudes sur la Justice (IHEJ) in Paris. He will lecture on “Judicial Forms of Truth Making." 

Before his appointment to the IHEJ, Garapon served as a juvenile judge for many years.  He has authored more than 30 books on law, culture, history, and politics and has for many years hosted a weekly radio program on France-Culture.  Garapon is currently teaching a mini-course at Tulane on law and culture.
