Tulane Law Students Offer Free Tax Help, Saturdays, 9am-4pm
Tulane University Law School students are helping low- to moderate-income individuals fill out their income tax forms for the 13th year in a row.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a free service and available on Saturdays, March 8th through April 12th from 9:00am until 4:30pm in Tulane Law School’s John Giffen Weinmann Hall, 6329 Freret St.*
Through the VITA program, Tulane law students assist hundreds of individuals who could not otherwise afford assistance with their income tax returns. Students, who obtain community service credit for participation in the program, help prepare basic tax returns for taxpayers with special needs, including persons with disabilities, non-English speaking persons, and elderly taxpayers.
