The Tulane Student Bar Association (SBA) is the student government of the Law School. The SBA is responsible for funding and working with the student organizations, considerable amounts of programs available to students, such as Student Faculty Mixers, Coffee with the Deans, Barrister’s Ball, Spring Fling and various social and networking events. The SBA serves as the formal means of communication between the students and the faculty and administration. Through Student Bar Association appointments, law students participate in the governance of the School. Students are represented on several faculty committees, including the Academic Affairs Committee, Deans Advisory Committee and are involved in the recruitment and appointment process for professors. A student representative also attends faculty meetings other than those devoted to personnel matters. SBA also works within the GAPSA, the graduate and professional students association to make sure the law school is represented at the university level. The SBA also works with national, state, and local bar associations.
