Alanah Odoms Hebert

Biography

Ms. Hebert is the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana. From 2013 to 2018, she served as Deputy General Counsel and Special Counsel to the Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, where she provided advice and legal representation on litigation and administrative matters involving lower courts, court committees, and bar admissions matters. She previously served as a senior associate with the Gauthier, Houghtaling firm in New Orleans; as Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office; and as law clerk to The Hon. Lynda Van Davis of the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court.

Ms. Hebert received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law in May 2008 (having visited at Tulane Law School during the Fall 2007 semester). She also holds a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Rutgers College.
