Second Amendment scholar joins Tulane Law as a Forrester Fellow
Kevin Schascheck, a scholar in Second Amendment jurisprudence, has been named a Forrester Fellow at Tulane Law School.
Schascheck’s research focuses on recent developments in Second Amendment jurisprudence, particularly as it relates to originalist methodologies and public safety. Past projects have focused on the use of history-and-tradition, politically equitable adjudication of cases, and presumptively lawful categories of firearm regulations. Ongoing projects relate to the law-fact distinction and recent Second Amendment decisions.
Prior to his clerkship, Schascheck clerked for the Hon. James P. Jones and practiced law as a Corporate Associate in the Boston office of Choate Hall & Stewart, LLP. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University South Bend and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Tulane’s Forrester Fellowship is intended for early-career scholars, who teach legal research and writing to first-year law students. Fellows typically serve two-year terms and are full-time faculty in the law school ranks.
