Biography

Abigail Gaunt, a former commercial litigator with experience handling student disciplinary issues, joined Tulane Law School in 2015 as Dean of Students.

She previously was director of student conduct for Tulane University, supervising student disciplinary procedures. She oversaw discipline in cases of alleged domestic violence and sexual assault, ensuring the university’s Title IX compliance. In 2007-08 she taught legal research and writing at the law school as a Forrester Fellow and currently teaches at Tulane’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.

Gaunt clerked for 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Jacques Weiner Jr. and for Judge Denny Chin on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She practiced commercial litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, as well as at Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley Willis & Swanson in New Orleans.
