Supporting Minority Lawyers

There are many ways to support the next generation of minority students at Tulane Law School.

For more information and to get involved, contact Assistant Dean for Career Development and Diversity Initiatives Lezlie Griffin at lagriffin@tulane.edu or 504-865-5942, or visit law.tulane.edu/BLA

Be a Speaker

Tulane Law’s Diversity Dialogue Series covers topics such as being a first-generation law student, women of color in law, being diverse in Big Law, enhancing diversity in judicial clerkships, prosecutors of color, and more. The law school is also planning admissions pipeline programs targeting minority high school and college students. We welcome alumni volunteers to serve as panelists for both the diversity dialogue and pipeline programs.

Be a Mentor

Tulane Law’s Minority Mentoring Program pairs alumni with current students as professional advisors. Develop a one-on-one relationship with a student interested in your area of law or from your region of the country, and help foster his or her success.

Connect a Minority Student with a Professional Opportunity

Make Tulane Law’s Career Development Office aware of programs and opportunities available at your firm or company with your employer for qualified diverse candidates.

Sponsor an Event

You or your firm can make expanded programs and events for current minority students and Tulane Law alumni possible through sponsorship.

Make a Gift to the Michael Starks Fund for Diversity Initiatives

Created in 2018, this fund honors the first African American graduate of Tulane Law School with a commitment to expanding Tulane’s recruitment and support of diverse law students and faculty. All gifts made to the Fund will be celebrated during Black Law Alumni Weekend in February 2019.
