Human Rights Law Society

The Human Rights Law Society (HRLS) addresses concerns about international and domestic human rights issues. HRLS keeps current on and raises awareness about significant worldwide developments in human rights in collaboration with other student organizations. Events HRLS has hosted or helped to organize include: roundtable luncheon discussions (topics have included torture, the Alien Torts Claim Act, sovereign immunity, rebuilding Iraq), Trafficking in Persons Symposium, Human Rights film festival, fundraisers with proceeds donated to indigent populations, and workers' rights activism and community service outreach post-Katrina and Gustav (including participating in various building projects).
