Seventh Women in Sports Law Symposium shines

The 7th annual Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium (WiSLS) returned to campus on November 11-12, 2024 with another hugely successful program. The Symposium is organized and led by law students of the Tulane Sports Law Society and brings together panels of high-profile speakers each year to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing women in the sports industry, with this year’s event sponsored by the Fragomen law firm.

With the event moved to the fall from its usual spring date, the WiSLS schedule also included a reception, sponsored by the Tulane Center for Sport, in a private section of Yulman Stadium to watch the exciting Green Wave football victory over the University of Tulsa on Saturday, November 11.  The reception and the panels of Sunday, November 12 drew a crowd of law and undergraduate students, alumni, faculty, and more.  A lunch reception following Sunday’s panels provided attendees a chance to meet and network with speakers and alumni.

The 7th annual event was led by third-year law students and WiSLS board co-directors, Casey Driskill and Jordan Reist, both (L'24).  The board also included third-year law students Hannah Ryan, Hannah Mulholland, Jasmine Williams, Sydney Williams; and second-year law students Lily Argyle, Josie Cowley, Julia Harter, Briley Chambers, Victoria Branch, Whitney McBay; and first-year law students Ryane Mejia and Tiffany Anderson.  Learn more about the WiSLS board here.
